looking at Tennessee pre-k program.

What the people behind the report found is that students who were in pre-k did better in the first grade than students who were not in pre-k, but all gains for students in pre-k went away in the second grade.

that it will not be until 2010 before college students see breaks on college textbook prices. The article says that 34 states have taken up bills to lower text book prices, but only 6 have signed bills into law.

Laude School District Article….

The Post-Dispatch reports on this school district that is going to force all teachers to have a masters degree. The article says that nearly half of the teachers in the school district will need an upgrade on the college diploma they have.

Although this looks like a nice idea, it is not a good one at all. Even with a masters degree a teacher can still be a flop. The NCTQ had a report out this year where around 50% of schools failed in properly teaching mathematics instruction to potential teachers. A masters degree is not going to help.
