Day Three Of The Ann Arbor News…

special report on the University Of Michigan includes four articles.

In one article they say that less than 3% of students at the school are athletic students, but 49% are in the general studies degree program. This article does get into some detail in what classes these athletes were taking.

In another article they say that a general studies degree is not really offered at other Big Ten colleges and they show the bulk of the football players are in the general studies program.

Another article looks at hockey player Eric Werner and classes he took to get his grade average up.

They also look at Pierre Woods who wanted to be a film and video studies major but could not do it due to football requirements.

Denver Public Schools pension plan. Why they have to punish people that work at age 56 years old is beyond me. Why people that retire early have to wait until 65 to get pension benefits, but someone who retires at 55 can receive full benefits is nuts.

Associated Press-mtvU Poll On College Student Stress

From the report:

4 in 10 say they endure stress often.

62% say that financial worries had at least some impact on the stress you have experienced in their daily life. 71% said the same thing for grades, 74% for school work, and 33% said job they have.

11% did say a friend actually attempted to suicide attempt.
