The Detroit News reports on this school where parents with students in grades 7-12 come in once a week to learn the Spanish language in order to help their students with homework.

The Houston Chronicle reports on this school and bilingual program the school has. At the end of the fifth grade, both the native Spanish-speaking and English-speaking pupils in the school are considered biliterate and bilingual.

The Christian Science Monitor reports on this College that has introduced the New American Student Scholarship for refugees from other countries in the state. The college has 18 people getting the scholarship, but hopes in the next few years to get 50-60 students on this scholarship.

on a on why high school students drop out. The link says that even by the eighth grade level the students that are more likely to dropout of school have racked up more days missed from school than students who will not drop out.

HMMM I guess this means that in the educational system we are going to have to do more preventative measures at the early grade levels. Have more phone calls and conversations by teachers to parents of kids missing a bunch of days to school.
