report is out on teachers in California. The number of K-12 teachers in the state is a record 308,790. 293,241 of them though are a fully credentialed. 15,549 teachers are underprepared. The amount of novice teachers in the state is on the rise as well.

on the small amount of male teachers teaching in the elementary grade levels. Latest data from the NEA says that only 14% of men teach in the elementary grade levels vrs 39% in the middle school and high school grade levels.

The is one major problem in the school system with no easy fixes. Pay and stereotype are to blame for this problem.
