The Arizona Republic report on college students who go to multiple colleges before they wind up getting a college degree. The article states that Seth Montoya has gone through five colleges.

New RAND Report Out On…

school readiness of California kids is out.

They report that 52% of second graders and 63% of third graders who did not meet grade level proficiency levels in English-language Arts. For math it was around 41-42%.

English Learners and parents who did not graduate from high school wound up with 70% of second graders and 85% of third graders who did not meet grade level proficiency levels in English-language Arts. For math it was around 53-58%.

For blacks and Hispanics they wound up with around 60% of second graders and 70% of third graders who did not meet grade level proficiency levels in English-language Arts. Math scores were mainly the same as the reading scores.

Figure S.1 in the report showcased major differences between many different groups.

Two New NAEP Score Reports Are Out On Urban Schools…

For math scores around 38,000 fourth and eighth graders 11 urban districts were looked at. Areas included New York City, Houston, Chicago and Washington D.C.

In fourth grade math only the Cleveland area saw a sizable dip in scores. In eighth grade math scores no city looked at saw a dip in scores. A couple of cites like Atlanta saw a big gain in scores.

For reading scores 37,000 fourth and eighth grade students got looked at from the same areas. For fourth graders in the area looked at we had one area dip, but far few increases than math scores. Four eighth graders you had no dips, but far fewer increases than math scores.
