18 teachers in Connecticut are going over to China in order to visit the Ministry of Education in Beijing and also visit the Shandong education department in Jinan and learn about the Chinese education system.

The AP looks at this state and what some schools are doing to help reduce the dropout rate. Putnam Vocational-Technical High School moved to smaller groups of students to increase the graduation rate.

The Detroit News in a report on these types of schools in Michigan says that state officials reject claims that they have 78 schools on the “dropout factory” list.
