Arizona State University Has A New Report…

out on restoring value to the high school diploma. I can agree with a lot of what they people behind this report have to say and is a great report to read.

In the report they say that states should not just throw out more higher level classes because it just throws out breadth, not depth. Under my plan I do my best to fix breadth by doing stuff like forcing all college level math classes to be 2-periods in length.

The report gets into “standards” and “rigor.” The report defines many of them. If a state has low standards for high school students, you will have low rigor by the students in general. With some national set standards we can fix that.

The report gets into exit exams which I hate and they do too. They say it does not improve standards and included to many lower grade level questions in them.

My educational plan I created does what I think is best to meet the needs of a 21st century job market that improves the whole educational system and not just the high school diploma.

Great start, but 500 grand a year is very small and needs a massive increase.
