looking to making some changes to the Utah Basic Skills Competency Test that all high school students must pass in the state must pass in order to get a diploma. The article states that 26% of high school seniors failed this exam.

states that starting in 2011 students who go to alternative schools as long as the test are the same will have the test scores from standardized tests count towards the API rating of the school the student left.

that the biggest bulk of teachers that do not meet the NCLB “Highly Qualifed Teacher” status rules are in the Middle school grade levels. Around 5,000 teachers in the state do not meet this requirement.

has agreed to a plan that would pay teachers a bonus for good test scores at schools that have high concentrations of poor children. A teacher can get a 3 grand bonus.
