The Burlington Free Press reports on this program aimed to help get kids in Vermont into college. The program has created a website to get the word out.

on college pricing. Public school tuition went up 6.6 on average over the past year to 6,185 bucks. If you also throw in fees, room, and board the cost is up 5.9% on average to a total of 13,589 bucks.

Out of state tuition is up around 5.5% on average to 16,640 bucks If you also throw in fees, room, and board the cost is up 5.4% on average to a total of 24,044 bucks.

Private college tuition is up 6.3% to 23,712 bucks. If you also throw in fees, room, and board the cost is up 5.9% on average to a total of 32,307 bucks.

Private students get on average 9,300 bucks in aid while public students get around 3,600.

The Pioneer Press reports on this Minnesota high school graduate that left the state for a couple of years to work and travel. He went to sign up go to University of Minnesota, but a little know rule at the university does not call him a resident of the state and has to pay the non-tuition rate of 19,000 bucks. The state though still calls him a resident.

This is totally cruel.

on the University Of California System that could wind up loosing 7 billion a year in state funding. The article states that tuition could jump as much as 80% to a whopping $15,306 a year for undergraduates by the 2010-2011 school year if it went private.

East San Jose Elementary School Article…

The San Jose Mercury News reports on this school that does not have enough textbooks. The school teachers are copying lessons and some parents are not happy at all.
