college applications says the Syracuse Post-Standard. The article talks about some colleges accepting fewer and fewer students.

Nice article, but it does skip over the data where the average amount of college applications per student is rising.

The National Institute For Early Education Research….

has a new report up on New Mexico pre-k initiative educational program. The institute sampled 886 kids. They looked at math, literacy, and vocabulary.

They say for vocabulary students in the program had a 54% growth scores over a year period. For literacy students had more than a double growth in scores. For math growth was only 40 over a year period.

by lead author Andrew B. Geier says that obese-kids on average miss a couple extra days of school than normal-weight kids. They looked at data on students in the 4th-6th grade level from the Philadelphia area.
