The Urban Institute….

has a short report up reviewing the Building Educated Leaders for Life (BELL) Accelerated Learning Summer Program.

The program is a Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM accelerated learning program. On Monday’s to Thursday’s they did academic instruction in the morning and enriching activities in the afternoon. On Friday’s they did had some field trips or listened to some guest speakers.

The program has one teacher and one TA for 15 students.

They would do some reading, writing, and math each week. They also would wind up do PE, dance, and art as well.

The school district is going to be putting in place a career exploration class for seventh and eighth graders. They are using a program called Career Choices Classroom by Academic Innovations.

Yeah another school moving a bit closer to what I want.

says that he wants to see 100% of kindergarten students in the state to be in all-day programs before he leaves office in 2010

now to the list of colleges in Michigan raising tuition. They are raising tuition a whopping 21%. The 9,120 buck cost is a fixed rate that will last for five years though. The college also want to build a new medical school.

that one Amarillo school district teacher David Tamez had leaked a part of the TAKS exam. He said he did it because he thought other teachers in the area were doing the same thing.
