students who do not pass the state exit exam will have to sign up for two more years of instruction. They can re-enroll as seniors, sign up for independent study or receive some other type of service.
The Sacramento Bee and San Francisco Chronicle also reports on this as well.
I say end-of-course exams, not exit exams for high school students.

college that is going to stop giving out loans in financial aid packets. The cost to the school which they hope to make up in donations from alumni is going to be 1.6 million bucks more a year. They already spend 1.4 million a year on money that does not have to be paid back.
