a new report on voucher use in the D.C. School District. The reports looked at test scores for over 2,000 students that were in the program. After one year in the program math and reading test scores did really go up after one year in the program. Parents though thought the students were in a safer and better school.

a new study that looked at reading skills of low-income students. They found that classroom and school characteristics had more to do with reading ability then method of classroom instruction. The home a student lives in also is a factor as well.

Fewer Students In California….

are rated fluent in English due to changes in how the exam is scored. Last year 44% were fluent last year and this year only 29% are.
