The Baltimore Sun reports on this Hilltop Elementary program that helps gets students a library card. Even though the program is in place 95 out of 500 students in the school have a library card.

Pre-K Now Report Out….

on what states are going to do this year with pre-K funding. 29 states are going to be increasing funding for state pre-k programs whiled 10 states do not even have a state funded pre-k program.

says that writing is vital and needs to be given greater priority in the school system. Thay say that teachers in the middle school and high school grade levels do not have the time to assign a lot of student writing.

HMMMM It might be a great idea to hire lots more English teachers so that one teacher teaches no more than 2 class periods a day.

Article one is on the north west part of Denver and the rising Anglo population.

Article two is on early education. The articles says that the retention rate for a student who goes to a DPS preschool is 10% more than a student that goes to a non-DPS preschool.

Article three is on setting boundaries for a school district.
