that standardize testing is changing the way how pke-k classes are being taught in Texas. The article states that a 46% jump has occurred in the early-childhood and pre-kindergarten class population over the past decade.

The Christian Science Monitor looks at this school district that owns a house which provides housing for homeless students. It current spends 34 grand a year on mortgage, insurance, and utilities on this house for four students. The school district hopes this house can help lower the drop out rate.

about a new study done by MGT of America Inc.. The report says that salaries have gone up 8.5% over three years due to money from the Thornton aid program. It also says that test score are up, but do not know if the extra money helped.

has a new report up on the Cobb School district shutting down the pre-k programs. The school district says they want to make the transition as smooth as possible and they are referring people over to the state’s Bright from the Start Web site (www.decal.state.ga.us)
