The Washington Unified School District created this program to help 18-22 year olds with developmental disabilities to function better in the real world. They learn stuff as how to balance a budget and a checkbook, how to shop for food, etc….

students are going to have to pass a writing portion of the FCAT exam to graduate. The article includes a link to some practice questions.
The program uses volunteers to help students with their writing and reading skills. The program looks for volunteers that are 55 and older.
