A Report On Boston Public School Students…

is out from the Boston Higher Education Partnership.  The report tracked 465 students.

The report says that one third of the students have left community colleges by the end of the first year while only 16% do the same in four-year schools.

Students in the community college are more likely to need a remedial class than students going to four-year colleges.

A couple of pieces from this stat filled report:

Older students are more likely to have to take a remedial class.  A slight decrease occured from the 2004 year on students needing to take a remedial class in math or English.

They say that the tuition in the state is around 50% more than the national average.

want to give up on the tuition deal that it has with the state of Minnesota.  Students from Wisconsin can save over 1,100 bucks on tuition over a resident from the state of Minnesota to go to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
