Chinese American International School where  few of the students speak native Mandarin Chinese, but is the language mostly spoken at the school.  They article says that 85% of students take spanishy as a foreign language in school.

Bi-Lingual Teachers In The State Of Texas…

only test speaking ability only to become cetified as a bi-lingual teacher.  They only take a 15 question test. The state wants a tougher test, but some school districts say they are having a tough time finding bi-lingual teachers.

Employees With Felonies In The Dallas Area…

are looked at by the Dallas Morning News.  In a lengthy article they say that the school district does not roport educators with criminal problems on time, the school does not find out these problems for years, and they do not fire people who leave this information off employment applications.  They do look at some people with criminal problems in detail.
They also have a up a great interactive graphic showing where the employees are employed.

The state education Superintendent Hank Bounds wants to spend 125 million over the next few years on stuff as flexible classroom hours, different career paths, more teacher training, etc…. to get more students to graduate.

Classrooms With The Kids Score Better….

in the Chicago Area says the Chicago Sun-Times.  When it comes to the elementary kids the schools with the best scores had on average seven more kids per class.

In a second article they say that the average amount of students in elementary classes in the Chicago area is 24 kids per class.  Higher than in areas such as Los Angeles and New York City.
