system is expanding the Having a Ball program.  The program is for fifth graders and teaches them six ballroom dances.  Students that go through this competition wind up going to a cityh wide competiton.

passed new rules stating that the student’s parents must live in the state for them to participate in a school sport.

has been chosen to be a part of a nationwide study of arts in the clasroom.  The study is going to look at how to create and sustain high-quality arts program.

state of Maryland are raising turtles and learning math, science and history at the same time.  They learn about a turtle’s habitiat, charts and measurement, and why they are native to the state of Maryland.

are using mini-tests in order to get grades up and find out what students need more help on.

passed the 2006 California state high school exit exam has moved up to 91.4% from 90.8%.  An extra 819 students have passed this exam.  The group still having the toughest time passing this exam are English learners.
