has a report up on dropouts and what certain ares of the USA have to done to graduate students.

In Trenton N.J. they have a Daylight/Twilight High School that runs from 7:30 in the morning to 7:30 at night.  Students go to that school 4 hours a day.

In Rantoul, Ill. some students wind up in the Lincoln ChalleNGe Academy. Over five and a half months students in this academy work towards a GED degree.  They have to get up at 5:15 AM to do PE.

The NEA says that merit pay programs does not solve the problem. Gale Gaines who is vice president of the Southern Regional Education Board says that teachers should help out in creating the program.

if you are late to class you have to pay a fine. Students with a third tardy or a fourth absence will have to attend attendance school.  It is two bucks for a tardy and three bucks for an absence.

Two to Three bucks is chump change.  If they have to go with the fees it better be at least 10 times the amount.
