I have never heard of this idea used before for the main teacher and I have to say that I like it.

Mathemathics releases Curriculum Focal Points for Prekindergarten through Grade 8 Mathematics.

This report goes into way more detail than I do on what math skills a students needs to know by the time they finish eighth grade.  A great read imo. The report is a bit big in size though if you want to look at it.
