In The State Of Ohio….

more students are passing state exams while more schools are not meeting NCLB goals.

School Districts in the state rated as “excellent” rose. Math scores improved in every grade level.

The article says that in the Cleveland area the school district this year met 0 out of 23 qualifications yet due to the state’s “performance index” rules it was able to move up to an”academic watch” rating from last year and the “academic emergency” rating it got.

Students In The Baltimore Area….

now only have to get a 60 or better grade in the key classes to pass a class this year down from 70.

This is just not right at all.  I do think that this hurts quality of high school grads that will come out of high school into the workforce or into college.  I do not think that 60 is a good score at all.

to hear what officials want to do to stop the overcrowding in that school. Some classrooms have students sitting two to a desk and the gym has been used to create extra classrooms.

Some Schools In The Denver Area….

are having the blacks and Hispanic children perform as well as the white children. Team Teaching and Differentiated Instruction are what these schools have been using.

has a report up on college debt. Mike Christoph is the only person they talk about in this article.  He wanted to get a master’s degree in music performance at the University of Arizona.  A couple of colleges said he had to repolace his bassoon or they would not exect him.
