The after school program was set up by the music legend Berry Gordy and a couple other people. The students in this program created their own music label, and recorded a bunch of songs that can be shopped around to music companies.

bought a home to house homeless students.  The home will include pastors in training and a local hospital will provide a therapist.

The 250,000 dollar home is going to cost the district 33 grand a year in mortgage, insurance, utilities, taxes and maintenance costs.  The school district also says it is going to need an extra 22 grand per year in donations.

I like this idea.  Other school districts should do this as well.
