along with a couple of other groups release final recommendations on what changes should be made on the NCLB bill.

Recommendation highlights:

Expand access to AP and IB programs.

English Language Learners need proper time to overcome language barriers. They also need alternate or modified assessments to properly reflect performance.

They want state to offer supplemental services before they offer school choice to a school that is not meeting AYP goals.

NAEP scores should not be used as the primary measure of state proficiency.

to loosen NCLB testing rules so that more special education students can take a simpler exam. A tripling in the amount of students that can take the weaker exam.

I think this is a nice idea.
