with a new look at teacher mobility in the Chicago Public Schools.

This report used data from the 2002-2003 school year through the 2006-2007 school year.

They found that in the 2002-2003 school year around 50% of teachers in one school were still at that school, new teachers though fared much worse though. They also found in more recent school years that teachers were more likely to leave the school district than to transfer to another school inside of the school district.

They found that teachers in their 40’s were most likely to stay as a teacher and that school that loose students are more likely to loose teachers as well.

Low achieving ISAT schools lost more teachers than high achieving ones.
