Fordham Foundation&#8230;.."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edexcellence.net\/doc\/20080618_high_achievers.pdf\" title=\"edexcellence.net\">new report looking<\/a> at the NCLB bill along with a teacher survey.<\/p>\n<p>Findings in the report:<\/p>\n<p>NAEP scores at the lowest level gained the most while at the top they hardly moved.<\/p>\n<p>60% of teachers say that the worst academic students are the biggest priority while only 23% said the best academic students are the biggest priority. <\/p>\n<p>73% of teachers at least somewhat agree that best academic students are bored and under-challenged in school.<\/p>\n<p>77% of teaches at least somewhat agree that getting the underachievers to perform properly it has taken a back seat to the needs of the advance students.<\/p>\n<p>30% of teachers can say that the NCLB has had a positive effect on worst academic students.<\/p>\n<p>46% of teachers say that teacher preparation programs had very little focus on how to teach the academically advanced students.<\/p>\n<p>74% of teachers at least somewhat agree that a homogeneous grouping of math students is a good thing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>with a new report looking at the NCLB bill along with a teacher survey.
