Second year teachers have dropped by 50% to just over 18,000 in the same time period.<\/p>\n<p>They also found that between the years of 2001\u00e2\u20ac\u201c02 and 2007\u00e2\u20ac\u201c08, the number of enrollees in teacher preparation programs dropped by 45%, from more than 75,000 to fewer than 45,000. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>with a new report looking at California teachers.
