This system is not the same as the CSU system that earlier this year jacked up tuition by 30%.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/education\/higher\/articles\/2009\/09\/11\/harvards_endowment_drops_sharply_amid_recession\/\" title=\"AP\">The AP reports<\/a> that the college endowment that Harvard has has dropped almost 30% down to 26 Billion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/education\/higher\/articles\/2009\/09\/11\/harvard_adopts_less_risky_strategy_for_endowment_fund\/\" title=\"Boston Globe\">The Boston Globe reports<\/a> on the change by Harvard to less risky assets in the endowment fund.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/education\/story\/2174990.html\" title=\"Sacramento Bee\">The Sacramento Bee<\/a> reports on UC Davis Faculty that is going to prepare for a September 24th walkout.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/article\/20090911\/SCHOOLS\/909110375\/1026\/Oakland-University-faculty-agrees-to-deal\" title=\"Detroit News\">The Detroit News reports<\/a> that Oakland University faculty have agreed to a deal that includes no wage increases, but no health care cuts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mercury News and the San Francisco Chronicle are both reporting that the UC system is looking at a 32% tuition hike for students for next fall students.
