They found quality to be lacking.<\/p>\n<p>The study found only 23% of the 880 first grade classes they looked at to be of high quality in both their instructional practices and social and emotional climate. <\/p>\n<p>31% though did have a positive emotional climate, but a low level of academic quality.<\/p>\n<p>28% of them were found to be mediocre and 17% of them to be low in quality.<\/p>\n<p>They did also find that class size and years of experience for the teacher to have no effect on classroom quality.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>study just looking at first grade classes.
