with a new report looking at the NCLB bill along with a teacher survey.

Findings in the report:

NAEP scores at the lowest level gained the most while at the top they hardly moved.

60% of teachers say that the worst academic students are the biggest priority while only 23% said the best academic students are the biggest priority.

73% of teachers at least somewhat agree that best academic students are bored and under-challenged in school.

77% of teaches at least somewhat agree that getting the underachievers to perform properly it has taken a back seat to the needs of the advance students.

30% of teachers can say that the NCLB has had a positive effect on worst academic students.

46% of teachers say that teacher preparation programs had very little focus on how to teach the academically advanced students.

74% of teachers at least somewhat agree that a homogeneous grouping of math students is a good thing.
