Buffalo New York area wants to extend the school year to 200 days in his school district.  He also wants to extend the school day as well. The superintendent says that he wants to find a way to spend more time with the kids.

has a new research report up on the state standards in the educational system.  Around half  of the states fail to have good standards.  The report shows how three states came up with the standards they have.
They also have released another report where they took 12 questions and asked them to some experts, got back some answers and came up with different Approaches to National Standards and Tests. Each one has pros and cons.
